Whether it is a private or a public service, ‘physical remoteness’ of the recipient will no longer be a disadvantage.
As devices around us become increasingly communication-ready with the progress in digital technology, we will gradually see improvement in device access which will help to resolve the digital divide.

Pros

Being able to exchange data anytime and with anyone frees you from being tied down to a physical location.
As appliances and devices we use normally gets connected to the internet, more people will be able to leverage data without having to purchase a special device.
Because you are able to maintain a close communication with someone who is physically distant, you can provide the care and monitoring from a remote location.
This will also help to reduce the gap between rural areas in developing countries and cities in developed countries.

Challenge

To universally and equally offer the benefits of data usage, a communication infrastructure and the means to access a device for data communication must be available across the board, along with user interface that is truly user friendly.
Regardless of your age or where you live, you must have the skills as well as ethics to utilize data correctly. To this end, we need a robust and continuous training program about data vigilance to prevent any damaging use of personal data.
